About Us

About the Guild

The Ottawa Valley Quilters Guild was started in 1981. The group has grown from only a few members to over two hundred.  From modern to traditional, young to experienced, the guild is a friendly place to share the passion of quilting. We are always growing and welcome anyone to come to a meeting!

Not only does the guild participate in making baby quilts for the hospital but we are often making placemats for Meals-on-Wheels, and quilts for charities such as Victims of Violence.

About the Coordinators

Currently the coordinators for the baby quilt charity are Samantha Le Blanc and Jean-Marc Le Blanc. We are new to the guild (two years) and are very excited to take on this role. The previous coordinators did such a good job we have big shoes to fill!

I (Samantha) have been quilting for about 4 years. I have come to love quilting over all other hobbies. I also make a lot of my childrens clothing. The baby quilt program means so much to us, having two young children, I could not imagine the hardship that the families passing through the preemie unit at the hospital are facing. My husband Jean-Marc is always ready to help and has even begun his first quilt this year.

I dedicate all my spare time to quilting, and now, to the guild. With help from my trusted sewing assistant pictured here;

we hope to make this website something that will be useful for this charity.
